01 / Context

Money is rarely about money.

At both CBA and ANZ, the financial wellbeing brief is the same in spirit: help Australians feel more in control of their money, particularly the ones who don't feel in control today. That work isn't a single feature — it's a posture that shows up in spending insights, savings goals, alerts, transaction descriptions, even the wording of a confirmation screen.

02 / Practice

Behaviour-led, evidence-informed.

The work draws on behavioural science, plain-language writing and a lot of customer research — including with people in genuine financial stress. The bar is high: changing money behaviour is hard and the risk of patronising people is real. The best designs respect the person on the other side of the screen first, the metric second.

Highlights across the years include savings goal mechanics, round-ups, spending insights, bill smoothing, and "coaching" surfaces that nudge without nagging.

03 / Note

Confidential by default.

Specific screens, metrics and unshipped concepts sit under NDA at both banks. A fuller walkthrough — with artefacts, before/afters and results — is available on request in person or over a private link.
